Winter Care |
1) We recommend using a
product called wilt proof to prevent winter damage to evergreens.
Two applications are recommenced 1st in mid November and the 2nd in
mid February. Ideal for rhododendrons, holly's, boxwoods and
azaleas.
2)
To winter over roses and prevent winter kill to the graft, we
recommend that you mound 6" of soil around the graft on the rose
bush when the ground is cold in November. 3) To winter
over perennial chrysanthemums, we recommend that you mulch over the
top of the root system after they have been cut back in November. 4)
Plants prone to snow and ice damage can be tied up or protected
with burlap prior to snow 5) Simply use a broom to remove
snow from valuable evergreens to prevent possible winter damage. |
